Installation of Pre-finished
Pre-finished hardwood flooring is sanded and finished in a factory typically using an alluminum oxcide finish that can not be repaired. It needs to be installed on the premises. It comes in mnay different stain colors and various types of wood. Intially this type of wood is less expensive. However, scratches or damage can not be sanded out and the flooring would need to be replaced.
Installation of Engineered Flooring
Engineered flooring is real wood. It is layers of 1/16" to 1/8" of finish wood on top and non-finish plywood underneath. It can usually be refinished once unlike pre-finished wood. So, what you're looking at is 100% genuine wood.
